SGT Johnny Nguyen grew up in San Jose CA, joining the Army right out of high school in 2003. His first duty station was the 2nd Infantry Division (2ID) in camp Casey Korea. After his one-year tour there he was sent to 1st of the 5th Calvary out of in Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas. On his second deployment to Iraq, Johnny sustained serious injuries to his left leg from an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) resulting in an amputation above the knee. SGT Nguyen started his rehabilitation as soon as he arrived at the Brooke Army Medical Center located at Fort Sam Houston/San Antonio, TX. It took Johnny about 2 years to recover and it was in that time that he learned to enjoy hunting and outdoor life. SGT Nguyen currently resides in San Antonio, TX.
